When Sarah, a wheelchair user from the UK, dreamed of visiting Angkor Wat, many told her it wasn’t possible.

But she went anyway.

With help from a local accessible tour guide and an adapted tuk-tuk, Sarah navigated ancient temples, jungle paths, and dusty roads. Some areas of Angkor were challenging, but ramps and supportive locals made it achievable. “Every stone had a story—and I got to hear it all,” she said.

Not every place in Cambodia is fully accessible yet.
But with good planning, the right contacts, and a spirit of adventure, more doors are opening.

Accessible accommodations in Phnom Penh, private tours tailored to mobility needs, and local guides with insight are transforming travel for people with disabilities.

Sarah’s journey reminds us: accessibility isn’t just about ramps. It’s about mindset, inclusion, and the freedom to explore.

Cambodia is learning to welcome everyone—and travelers like Sarah are showing the way.
